Ch. 53 What About Those Who Have Never Heard Of Jesus?

If Jesus is the only way to salvation, then what happens to those who have never heard of Jesus?

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

Colossians 1:15–20   15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

Romans 15:21 a New Testament reference to Isaiah 52:15
21 but as it is written, “They who had no news of Him shall see, And they who have not heard shall understand.”

Isaiah 52:15 Thus He will sprinkle many nations, Kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; For what had not been told them they will see, And what they had not heard they will understand.

If a person has never heard of Jesus Christ but they give up trying to worship false idols and give up trying to make themselves acceptable to God and if they turn away from their sin, repent of their sin, and simply turn to the God who made the universe and say “Help, whoever you are who created the universe, I believe in you God, I have faith in you” then they will be saved; because, Jesus Christ created the universe. If they worship the one true Creator, then they are worshiping Jesus Christ. If they have faith in the one true Creator of the universe then they are demonstrating faith in Jesus Christ; as a result, they are saved, God will give them eternal life. They will be saved the same way I was saved: by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.

Remember, you are not responsible for what others do not know; you are responsible for what you do know.
