Ch. 40 The Greatest Act Of Love
In the earlier chapter
Evil And Human Suffering
I explained how there can be a purpose for evil and human suffering. The killing of Jesus Christ was the greatest act of evil ever done; but it resulted in the greatest act of love. The result was the reconciliation of human souls with their Creator.
God took on human flesh and died for me.
Romans 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
To begin to get an idea of how God loves you, please read the following verses:
1 Corinthians 13:48
4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
Having been reconciled to God, He has made us His children.
1 John 3:1
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us,
that we would be called children of God; and such we are.
